Konohagakure (Village Hidden in the Leaves/Village of Hidden Leaves/Hidden Leaf Village), or Konoha for short, is one of the five great ninja villages. As such, it is one of five villages with a Kage as its leader, known as the Hokage. On a mountain overlooking the villages, the faces of every Hokage are carved into the rock. Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage, has her face added sometime during the timeskip.

Located approximately 12 kilometers from Konoha is Otafuku City, home of the Fun Fun Street kanrakugai (pleasure quarter). It is marked by many hotels and entertainment venues. This was Naruto and Jiraiya's first stop on their journey to find Tsunade.

| Tanzaku Gai
Tanzaku Gai is the location of the historic Tanzaku castle. Watching over the city, the gigantic castle stood for many years until Orochimaru destroyed it. The city itself was left untouched. Since Orochimaru's destruction of the Tanzaku Castle, it was re-established two years later.

| Shumatsu no Tani
Shumatsu no Tano (Valley of End) is a vast statuary waterfall marking the border between the Fire Country and the Rice Field Country, the Valley marked a landmark where two shinobi fought great battle in the past. It is said the destruction was so great it tore the earth asunder, creating the very valley. The figure on the Fire Country side appears to be the First Hokage. The Rice Field side individual is unknown.

| Fire Temple Ruins
This temple is home to specially trained monks. One such monk was Chiriku, one of the daimyou's Twelve Guardians. The temple was later destroyed by Akatsuki, it is unclear if it will be rebuilt. The Fire Temple is a vast temple that holds a large Ninja Monk sect within it's walls. Most of these Monks were killed by Hidan and Kakuzu during their search for a Jinchuuriki.

| Kaze no Kuni : Land of Wind |
| Sunagakure no Sato (1 sub-board)
Sunagakure (Village Hidden in the Sand), or Suna is a village hidden deep within the vast deserts of Kaze no Kuni. It's the Village of one of the Five Great Shinobi Nations, so the leader has the title of Kage, in Suna's case, Kazekage. Suna is hidden in a trench between two plateuas. The gates are two large stair-esque walls that have a small opening.

| Wind Temple
A temple hidden in the vast desert of Kaze no Kuni. The temple holds a Monk sect that specialize in Wind Ninja Monk Arts. The Wind Temple is surrounded by a small civilian village, while the Wind Temple sits atop of a large platform above the village. There are Pyramid-like walls that surround most of the Village and Temple, much like the wall that hides Sunagakure.

| Shounin Gai
Shounin Gai is a large Village located in the deserts of Kaze no Kuni. It's a village that mostly serves as a marketplace of free trade. Merchants come from all around to sell their merchandise here. There has been word that there's a Black Market hidden in Shounin Gai that accepts and sells different types of bodies and kekkei genkai.

The wilderness of Kaze no Kuni consists of vast desert, and small oasis'. Few venture out into the desert without a great quantity of supplies.

| Tsuchi no Kuni : Land of Earth |
| Iwagakure no Sato - 1 Viewing (1 sub-board)
Iwagakure (Village Hidden Among the Rocks), or Iwa is located in the Land of Earth. As one of the five great ninja villages, Iwagakure has a Kage as leader, the Tsuchikage. Little is known about it, but it stands to reason that its ninja specialize in earth-based jutsu. In the past, the village was at war with Konohagakure, part of which is seen in the Kakashi Gaiden arc. A large number of their ninja were slain by the Fourth Hokage, so they are not allies of Konoha. Deidara of Akatsuki hails from here.

| Jouheki Gai
Jouheki Gai is known as the Rampart Town. It's a large town that sits on a plateu surrounding the entrance to the mountains that Houses Iwagakure no Sato. The entire village is surrounded by a large Earth Rampart for unknown reasons. It's rumored that the Tsuchikage created this Rampart around this village to keep something hidden within it, but it's not known what or if it's true. The North of the village sits between the feet of two mountains that are side by side, so the North end of the village is tilted on both ends inward. The rampart extends from one mountain to the next and is almost eighty feet tall. The gates are manned by Iwa Ninja, which is why the Village is sometime referred to as a Military Village.

| Joukamachi
A large Village in the heart of Tsuchi no Kuni. The village itself revolves around a massive Castle that stands tall at the head of the Village. The Castle is deserted, and is now only viewed as a landmark.

The vast wilderness of Tsuchi no Kuni. Mostly mountainous terrain and deserted plains. There have been said to be a temple somewhere hidden in the Mountains.

| Kaminari no Kuni : Land of Lightning |
| Kumogakure no Sato (1 sub-board)
Kumogakure (Kumogakure no Sato/Village Hidden Among Clouds) or Kumo for short is located in the Land of Lightning. As one of the five great Ninja villages, Kumogakure has a Kage as leader, the Raikage. In that past, Konohagakure and Kumogakure were at war, and during peace talks, one of the ninja from this village tried to kidnap Hinata Hyuga, which resulted in an incident that ended with the death of Neji Hyuga's father. Nothing apart from that is known about it at this point, but it stands to reason that its ninja specialize in lightning-based jutsu. It should also be noted that Yugito Nii, the container of the two-tailed demon cat, hails from Kumogakure. Yugito claims that she is the second strongest ninja in her village.

| Kashoko no Sato
Kashoku no Sato (Village of Bright Lights) is a village that's filled with burning lights during the night. At night, the streets are decorated by electrical oil-paper lamps with different lightning designs and kanji on them. Along with the lamps, different signs that hang from the sides of shops are lit up in a nice array of colors. The village is visible from a distance at night.

| Kaminari no Kuni : Areno
Kaminari no Kuni's wilderness is full of plains, abd clouds. It is said to be the "Plains that Never Stops Storming" Lightning, and clouds reside permanently over the plains, giving off constant rain, and flooding the plains at times.

| Kirigakure no Sato (3 sub-boards)
Kirigakure (Kirigakure no Sato, literally Village Hidden in Mist) or Kiri for short is one of the five great hidden villages and is located in the Land of Water. Its leader is the Mizukage. Little is known about Kirigakure, except that its ninja specialize in water-based jutsu. However, it would also seem that many of its ninja wield swords, based on flashbacks in the anime. In the past, the graduation exam for becoming Genin was rather inhumane: students who had been friends, trained together, and ate from the same table, were pitted against one another in fights to the death. Kakashi mentioned that for this exam, the village earned the nickname the Village Hidden in the Bloody Mist. This gruesome method was cut short, however, when Zabuza Momochi, a boy who had failed to pass the preliminary exam to even attend the ninja academy, went mad and killed all of the students in that year's graduating class.

| Ooyuki Sato
A moderate size village to the south of Mizu no Kuni's frozen tundra. It is often snowing in this village, many Kekkei Genkai holders trying to get away from Kiri troops fled South. It's said that some of them reside here.

| Okamai Gai
Okamai Gai is a large village with towering scenery, by far one of the largest villages in Mizu no Kuni. It's overrun with Yakuza and Mercenary Nukenin from foreign Villages. To the East, there are the Namako Yakuza, a gang of veteran mobsters that keep a watchful eye over Okamai. While to the West, there are the destructive and manipulative Kayaku Yakuza who often hire Mercenary Ninja as bodyguards. Thus, they are usually claimed to be "in control" of the village. Most everyone in Okamai Gai are hospitible and nice to outsiders, but both Yakuza gangs are against outsiders interfering

The wilderness of Mizu no Kuni, from forests to a large frozen tundra on the South end of the island. To the North it's littered with Beaches where the climate is a bit warmer.

| Kusa no Kuni : Land of Grass |
| Kusagakure no Sato (1 sub-board)
Kusagakure (Kusagakure no Sato/Village Hidden in the Grass) or Kusa for short is located in the Land of Grass. Nothing apart from that is known about it at this point, but it stands to reason that its ninja specialize in jutsu involving flora or fauna. Judging from the ninja that have hailed from Kusagakure, it can be assumed that this village is far less pleasant than Konohagakure.

| Takigakure no Sato (1 sub-board)
Takigakure (Takigakure no Satol/Village Hidden in a Waterfall) or Taki for short is located in the Land of the Waterfall. It is lead by Shibuki, who seems too much of a coward for the job at first. Nothing apart from that is known about it at this point, but its ninja seem to specialize in water-based jutsu. Also, its leader processed a type of water called the Hero Water, which was extracted from a rather old tree. It gives the user ten times their ordinary chakra level; however, the strain of its use can prove fatal. Kakuzu of Akatsuki hails from this village.

| Amegakure no Sato (1 sub-board)
Amegakure (Amegakure no Sato/Village Hidden in Rain) or Ame for short is a small hidden village in the Land of Rain. It seems to be a rather loosely knit village, as a fair number of its ninja seem to either be missing-nin or end up as missing-nin. Nothing apart from this is known about it at this point, but it stands to reason that its ninja specialize water-based jutsu. Umbrellas are common weapons used only by them. One can infer from the performance of their ninja that long-range combat and genjutsu are emphasized, as are various breathing aids to allow them full mobility in their element.

| Oushi no Kuni : Land of Bulls |
| Chirigakure no Sato (1 sub-board)
Chirigakure no Sato (or Chiri for short). Village Hidden in the Dust. The village specializes in training its shinobi to be merciless assassins and invincible soldiers. To do so the village focuses on training its shinobi to be extremely strong physically, and if they aren't pyshically strong then they are trained in the art of stealth and infiltration. The general ninjutsu type that is used by the shinobi of this village are mostly Doton type.

| Oushiza Daitoshi : Taurus City
This is the capitol city of Oushi no Kuni. It is located near the southern portion of the country. This is the largest city in the country with several business locations all around. Most of the cattle that is exported to other countries is sold in this city.

This is a large valley that extends from the northern portion of the country to the southern section, and one of the main routes of travels for cattle herders when they are sending their cattle to be exported in Oushiza Daitoshi.

| Oushi no Kuni: Areno
In the northern portion of the country the land is mostly open farmland where farmers raise cattle. The area is also more mountainous than the rest of the country. The middle section of the country is mostly open space for wild bison to roam free, and is similar to a grassland. The southern portion of the country is more industrialized with small cities scattered around where the cattle are exported to other countries.

| Kūki no Kuni : Land of Air |
| Kūkigakure no Sato (2 sub-boards)
Kūkigakure is rather known for it's advances in steam. It's ninja are also known for using the wind element styled after Tengu. They are also known for a number of clans that reside in Kūkigakure and several Kekkei Genkai. It's leader is known as ōshō [Brave Leader]. The village was founded by a man known as Tengu Sennin Sojobo, and has had a number of Tōshō afterward. The current leader Anjin is Yondaime Tōshō, retaking the position from his former teammate Nakato after a short hermitage due to the then current war with a village called Yugegakure [Hidden Steam]. As of recent, Anjin has expressed pulling Kūkigakure back into seclusion away from the world.

Kūkigakure Sōka (Hidden Air Buddhist Temple) is a temple hidden high in the mountains of Toriyama. There, warrior monks that are trained in extensive Ninjutsu. At the age of twelve, they're promoted to Genin by the Head Monk and sent to the main village to serve.

| Nami no Kuni
The Wave country is a small island nation which was once under the harsh rule of the shipping baron Gatô. Located off the coast of the Fire Country, the islands became impoverished because of the strong grip Gatô had over the shipping and transportation in the region. He ruled through fear, and anyone who dared stand in his way he had murdered as a warning. When Gatô was finally killed, Tazuna the bridge builder was able to finish his bridge and connect the country to the mainland. Thus the bridge allowed the country to become prosperous once again.

The River country lies between two of the main shinobi powers, the Fire and Wind countries. To the north the country is bordered by the Rain Country. The country is marked by mountains, forests and rivers. Akatsuki chose to make the country one of their bases of operation. They took Gaara here after they defeated him at Hidden Sand.
